Donna Miller demonstrates caring and strives to provide the best care for her patients. Patient satisfaction and safety is on her mind always. Donna has excellent critical skills but her calmness, empathy, and kindness to her patients is what makes the biggest impact. Donna takes care of her patients and their families but she will also give a helping hand to her co-workers if needed. She has recently taken the role as Charge Nurse in the ED.
One day while in charge, Donna noticed that one of the patients refused to have anyone touch him or do vital signs. Donna went to the patient, greeted him with a smile and explained in a calm and soothing tone of voice the importance of his health and how she wanted to help him get the care he needed. Donna was the only person that the patient allowed to do vitals and blood drawn. The patient then needed a blood transfusion; Donna educated and addressed any concerns the patient had. Thanks to Donna’s commitment to her profession and her patients she provides exceptional care.
