I have an autoimmune diseasefor which I have been using steroids in high doses for years. Because of this, my veins have become very frail. The nurses at the Mary Byrd Cancer Center recommended that I have a medical port placed. My physician agreed to it.
The first time I came to have my treatment done and have the port used for the first time Donna was excellent. She took time to explain every little detail about what the proper procedure and use for the port. She even showed me different kind of ports used. I was a little scared and she was so sweet to help me through all the procedure. She is an excellent nurse. She is very well prepared, she knows all the details and the answers to my questions. She is so kind, I was so scared, and she took the time to help me through the process which seems to be very easy but it made me very anxious. She is an angel and asset to the Mary Byrd Cancer Center. Donna is making lives better with her excellent treatment to the patients that come to the Cancer Center. She always makes us smile and feel better. For everything she does I need to thank her. Kudos to her. Do not ever let her go. All her patients and I need her in our lives.
