#1.) I’ve had heart problems now for 15 years, had open heart surgery in 2004( including 5 by passes) at Holy Cross Hospital, and numerous heart attacks. I met Debbie in Cardiac Rehab. I have gone through Rehab at least 3 times with Debbie. My doctor is at Broward General, and I could go to rehab at Broward General but they don’t have a nurse there like Debbie Napoli. She has become a friend with me and my family. Just 2 weeks ago during Exercise I was on the treadmill and experienced Shortness of breath, chest pains, and heart pounding. I walked over to Deb and said there’s something wrong, I can’t do what I usually do. She immediately hooked me up to a monitor and checked my vitals. She immediately called my doctor, faxed over my reading from the monitor and instructed she should see me immediately. 2 days later I had 3 stents done. Without her I may have had a heart attack and who knows what would have happened. She is the reason I stay at Holy Cross Cardiac Rehab. Another thing- If I miss coming to the gym for any length of time she will call me at home to see if I am OK. She knows I’ve had so many heart attacks and she cares enough to take time and see if I am OK. So, not only is she a caring nurse, I am proud to call her my friend.

#2.) I have witnessed Debbie Napoli take a very frightened person into Cardiac Rehab and make them feel empowered and in control of their own future.

#3.) Debbie is extremely attentive and involved with her patients. A patient was exhibiting shortness of breath and dizziness. Debbie picked up on these symptoms along with monitoring her heart rate. She responded quickly and professionally. She has a strong consideration for her patients. Due to Debbie’s actions the patient was admitted and got to celebrate her birthday 2 days later!

#4.) Debbie treats each patient in Cardiac Rehab with respect, kindness and patience. She goes above and beyond her duties to ensure each patients needs are met. An example of this is an event today when a patient became nervous and uneasy because he felt he was having palpitations. She contacted his cardiologist directly and sat with him and his family to calm their nerves- she is incredibly professional and a wonderful mentor.
