I have the pleasure of being stationed here in NY and am so very lucky to have been able to find a career here at ORMC. Coming from Military Hospitals and Medical Centers I have worked with some wonderful people and amazing leaders. Down here in the Outpatient Infusion Center we are all very lucky to have such a great leader, Debbie Kippel RN. Debbie Kippel is our Charge Nurse and leads our Infusion Center. When EE accepted another career, Debbie Kippel stepped up and kept this Infusion Center going for months. She not only does what her job description states but goes above and beyond every day for her patients, for her fellow coworkers and for Orange Regional Medical Center. She treats others with mutual respect, compassion, honest, fair and a bove all brings laughter to all especially to those patients that really need it the most.

We have many traditions here in Outpatient Infusion but one great one is the Bon Voyage song when our oncology patients complete therapy. We sing and boost morale to other patients by this send off. One recent patient that passed on 2 North was one of our favorite long time patients from Infusion. Debbie heard that he was on comfort measures and that we needed to say goodbye to him. Well, in Debbie fashion, she went up to his bedside and sang to him our Bon Voyage song. She gave him the proper send off that he witnessed to fellow patients in Infusion Center.

All of the patients become family to her and that is what makes her one of the most compassionate, extraordinary nurses that we have here at Orange Regional Medical Center. I can honestly say coming from many different oncology centers in the past few years that she is one of the best and truly one of the biggest assets to Oncology, to the Infusion Center and to ORMC.
