Recently, I brought my 8-year-old daughter into the ER with severe stomach pain. Less than 24 hours before I had taken her to another hospital where they could find nothing wrong with her and promptly sent us home. When we met Nurse Deborah I told her our situation and that we had already been quickly examined and discharged from another hospital and told that nothing was wrong with my daughter. Nurse Deborah took her time in easing my daughter's mind that she was going to take care of her and figure out what was going on. She was very thorough and never dismissed my daughter's claims of pain. She listened to her every word and was so very attentive in her care and treatment. She came to check on her when she heard her crying. She repeatedly asked her if she was comfortable and where she was hurting. She offered her a warm blanket when she became frightened and a cold Popsicle after having to do an uncomfortable throat swab. I was very moved at her level of compassion and personal level of care towards my daughter. Nurse Deborah was able to identify the cause of my daughter's pain and verify that there was indeed an issue that needed urgent care. We are very grateful for that. She touched our hearts with how sweet, kind, and caring she was throughout the process. I thanked her multiple times for her kindness, but I felt like it wasn't enough for how amazing she was with helping us.
