In November, Deanna was caring for an extremely premature baby boy who did not survive. The baby's mother was very ill and had to be brought to the NICU on a hospital bed. She was alone because the baby's father was at work and was not able to be there. The mother states "she had no one else to come and be with her." Deanna showed exceptional care to this grieving mother and her family. Deanna bathed and dressed the baby in the mother's room allowing her to be a part of the process as much as possible. When the baby's mother was moved to 2 South for telemetry, Deanna made several trips to 2 South to make sure she was able to spend as much time with her baby as possible. Deanna realized that the two young siblings and the baby's father had not eaten since breakfast and purchased food for them. Deanna exhibited a positive, caring attitude, and truly went above and beyond in caring for this tiny baby and his family.
