I have been coming to this hospital for a very long time to get treated for my CIDP. Dawn juggles her time with patients and at the front desk coordinating who goes where and what they should do. Nursing/managing to Dawn isn't just a job. Patients in her care have to trust her. And I always have and do. She always treats her patients and co-workers with dignity, respect, kindness, and compassion. Dawn does more around here than anyone actually realizes. Not only does she treat them to get better but she gives love to whoever needs a boost. I have to admit, I gave Dawn and the whole staff on the 3rd floor a really bad time. I was addicted to opiates and I was out of control but I still needed my plasma exchange. Dawn never judged me or was rude or cold to me after I got treatment, no person here did but Dawn stands out. Dawn wears many hats. She is a great nurse, charge nurse, receptionist... I could go on forever! The front desk area is a tricky place. When people come on the floor, the first person they see is the most important because: 1. They are so worried about a loved one, 2. They don't know where to go, 3. Answering phone is = to that. Too many duties to count. Only a selected few are able to be in that pit as we call it. It gets pretty crazy at times but Dawn, who I think is one of Imperial Point's best commodities, never loses her composure. She just goes into a mode that is calming, effective, and caring all at the same time. But she is my nurse a lot of the time and she really had a hand in me quitting my addiction. I respect her so much and this is why I think she is a true DAISY Nurse.
