Dawn has been very thorough and informative when it came to discussing my daughter. She made sure and took extra time to answer my questions, she didn't make me feel like my questions were ignorant, and she gave me great advice on caregiving and used her personal experience as a mother with her children. It was just really nice to be able to have a normal conversation with our nurse and not feel like they were judging me or making me feel as if I made a wrong choice by bringing her to the emergency room. Also, I felt completely comfortable leaving the room to get fresh air, because I knew she was in Dawn's care. This is the first time that upon leaving, I didn't come back to my daughter screaming. Dawn had swaddled her and took extra care with her. That was just an awesome feeling; to come back, and know she wasn't left all alone to scream her head off.
Dawn has just been so polite and caring from her first introduction and she is definitely doing what God intended for her to do. It takes a special person to care for children and someone with a huge heart and just a gift from God of caregiving. I am so thankful to have her as a nurse on our last day here because I am tired and I needed someone who would understand and caring, like Dawn obviously is. She deserves this award because being here is so stressful, but nurses like Dawn make it easy to be here and make you feel comfortable. She is an amazing person with a huge heart and I thank God we have her today.
