He is an amazing nurse who works well with my doctor.  He took the time to explain the procedure and comfort me, assuring me that I would not feel any pain.  He even asked me questions to distract me when the doctor was starting the procedure.  When it was all done, he was very attentive, with a cup of ice, since I had been NPO.  I want David to know that I appreciate his passion for work and the caring manner that he has for his patients.

By definition, being conscientious is the characteristic of a nurse that is able to discern needs and respond to them in a competent and compassionate manner.  According to Sister M. Simone Roach (2007), a nurse who is exhibiting compassion is attempting to experience what the patient is feeling and being conscientious is an integral aspect of compassion.  David demonstrated this type of genuine compassion and was acknowledged by this patient for emulating the all of the DAISY noteworthy attributes; making special patient connection, including the patient in their plan of care, educating the patient to address their unique needs, partnering with their physician colleague, going above and beyond the call of duty, providing individualized, compassionate care, living out the hospital vision of excellence.

David was born and raised in Ohio and has been a Registered Nurse for over fifteen years.  David’s acute care nursing career has been focused primarily in Emergency and Radiology Departments.  He also taught Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), for several years.  David is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is one of their football teams’ most devoted fans.  He is best known for his fantastic customer service and quirky sense of humor.  David lives with his son and balances his life well, between work, family and his true passion in life as a professional hair model in Beverly Hills.  We applaud David for his many accomplishments.
