Danielle was returning a patient's call for assistance. The patient told her he was very depressed and had no hope. Danielle called mobile crisis to get advice and the patient hung up. She shared information with the nurse at mobile crisis and we could not reach the patient. Danielle called mobile crisis multiple times and the patient over a course of 3 hours, finally reaching the patient and verifying that the patient got contacted and had resources to get assistance. She pursued until the patient was assisted and demonstrated that she cared and that the patient came first.
