I was in the hospital for neck and spine surgery and Daniel was my nurse a couple of times. He went above and beyond his duties when he wasn't my nurse if he noticed me needing something and my nurse was busy he came into my room to help any way he could. But what really surprised me the most was 2 days after my surgery they were going to be taking out my drain tube which was located in my back. When the nurse came in to take it out, she had me sit in the chair. Daniel was not my nurse that day and he knew I was scared. So he came in and knelt in front of me in the chair and held my hands and talked to me until it came out. It didn't hurt that bad, but a month before I had a drain tube due to lymph node surgery and that one did hurt. So it was the principle of what he did for me because he knew it wouldn't hurt but he went out of his way to comfort me and make me unafraid. Daniel is a terrific nurse and an asset to Orlando Health. As far as I am concerned, he's the true meaning of a caring and loving nurse. He was there for me in my time of need and helped to lessen my anxieties by simply being there and recognizing my fears. Thank you, Daniel, for being so compassionate and empathetic to me, you made my stay at ORMC all that much better.
