I was really touched by a story on how one of my coworkers went above and beyond to help another person on her flight home from Costa Rica. While on the plane, a message came over the speaker that if there were any medical personnel on the plan, a person needed help. Daisy went to find a lady in her chair shaking and her eyes rolling. When her friend told Daisy she was a diabetic, they took her blood sugar to find out it was low - so low that it could not be detected on the machine.
Daisy spoke to a doctor on the phone where he gave her orders. Daisy inserted an IV with limited supplies in the right spot. The lady was in her seat and Daisy gave her D50 IV push, then hung IV fluids.

Dear Daisy,
Thank you again for your care to keep me stabilized during our return flight from Costa Rica to Fort Lauderdale. You literally saved my life. I am sorry to have put you and everyone else on the flight in a frightening situation. May God bless and watch over you always. We will remain in touch.
