I wanted to bring to your attention the good deeds that your nurses did for me during my hospital stay. I had surgery December the 15th and I was going to drive myself home the next day because I live alone and all my family lives out of town. Marilyn Whitsell and Cyndy Godley were working that day and they would not hear of me driving myself home. Cyndy drove my car home and Marilyn followed so she could take her back to the hospital to get her car. They asked me if I had food, and if they could do anything for me before they left. I had been gone two days and they went to the mailbox and got my mail for me. When I went for my pre-operative visit they told me not to bring credit cards or cash with me on my surgery date. I did as advised so I had no way to pay for anything. The doctor had ordered several medications that he wanted me take after going home. They called the pharmacy at Baptist and requested all my medications so I would have them when I got home and would not have to try and get them myself. Cyndy charged all my meds on her credit card.
Cyndy was my nurse that day but Marilyn came in my room many times to help her take care of me. They went above and beyond what nurses have to do for their patients. I will forever be grateful to them. Extraordinary nurses like these need to be recognized with the DAISY Award. The patients they take care of everyday have the best nurses. They are always considerate of others. Baptist should be honored to have such caring and compassionate nurses in their employ.
Because of all the excellent nurses that took care of me during my hospital stay everything went very smooth. I am grateful to them all.
