Courtney Dini is a Cancer Care Nurse. She is an extraordinary nurse. I've never encountered a nurse like her. On my first visit to the Cancer Center, she immediately radiated with her wealth of knowledge, personality, and caring spirit. She always goes above and beyond in caring for her patients. For example, when I was receiving Chemo, she would take time out of her busy schedule to visit with me and make sure I was doing ok and/or if I needed anything. That really meant a lot to me because this was all new to me.
Courtney always explains things in full detail by providing documentation. I've never had a nurse who explained to me what each number means, why it's important and what they look for when reviewing my lab work. She's so supportive in every sense of the word. Just knowing she's there has always given me comfort.
Just recently I had gotten very sick and I immediately started texting her with my symptoms. I was so sick I called into work because I couldn't stand, sit, or even walk. Even though she was out of town, she made time to get in touch with the Clinic and have someone call me. As a result, Dr. R asked me to come in so that he could evaluate me. It turned out that my low white blood cell count had dropped to 0.1 and I was gravely ill. I was immediately admitted to the hospital. I underestimated the seriousness of my condition, however, she immediately recognized that something was wrong and stayed on top of it. I truly feel like her quick response helped save my life. She was out of town with family and could have easily said "let someone else handle that" but she didn't. She is an amazing nurse and I'm sure her patients will all agree.
