Hayley and Courtney are extraordinary. Courtney was my “day” nurse and Hayley had the night shift. I was in a lot of discomfort from my hives and whenever I said something to them; they did everything they could to make it better, from asking the doctors if there were any other medications I could have, (we switched from Benadryl to Atarax) and they took every complaint seriously. I told them my arm hurt from the injections, both of them took care to dilute it and push it slower so it was bearable. Hayley even went on a hunt for feminine hygiene products when I started my period at the hospital. Though I was admitted on my birthday (what a way to celebrate), they made me feel like it wasn’t so bad. Hayley made sure to put me on oxygen when I told her my chest felt funny and Courtney got a doctor immediately the next time it happened. I have never felt safer in a medical setting than with these two. Sure, hives/allergic reaction is basic and not life-threatening, but I was at a point where tearing off my skin would have been more pleasant. Thank goodness, they stopped me from doing that.
