I had the opportunity to visit your hospital last evening and into the morning. It was not my first visit, but it was the most impressive. My aunt was diagnosed over 5 years ago with cancer. She chose to remain in Calhoun for the duration of her treatment, and eventually left us around midnight at your hospital.
Cody is one of the most compassionate nurses I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His professionalism, empathy, and true passion for care could not have been more evident than it was last night. Cody helped guide my aunt gently into rest. His presence did not obstruct our family from assisting my aunt to gracefully move from this world to the next, his presence assisted us and her in doing so.
He anticipated needs throughout the night, and made sure even the smallest details were cared for in a graceful and kind manner. He kept us informed, and kept her comfortable. It was as peaceful as it could be because of him. When she finally passed, he was so kind to let us know he had been praying for her all night. He made us feel like serving my aunt was his honor.
Cody's kind compassion for my aunt and my family will not soon be forgotten. He is a true example of what it means to deliver extraordinary care.
