We brought our sweet baby girl into the ER for a fever at 5 days old. After being admitted to the hospital we learned it was viral meningitis. The following evening our baby started having seizures. The seizures became more frequent and severe. During the scariest time in our life, Claire Harris was there every step of the way. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, supportive, sensitive and caring. She anticipated all our needs and took care of our baby and us, above and beyond the call of duty! In one of the most stressful times of our life and our baby's life, Claire remained calm, worked closely with the wonderful doctor, and controlled the situation with the greatest of ease. When things calmed down, she even watched over our baby girl while we took some time to sleep. We will always remember Claire as our baby's guardian angel! Thank you, Claire!

My 5-week-old daughter was admitted for viral meningitis. Everyone at CHKD was great, however, I wanted to point out Claire because not only was she great with our daughter by taking an extra minute to console her and talk to her, but she also was willing to sit and talk to me and reassure me that she was going to be okay and answered all my 150 million questions. As much as we did not want to be here you all have made this a much better experience.

It takes a special person to balance the fine mixture of techniques needed to get through a day in pediatrics, which is anything but typical. As a pediatric nurse, Claire has shown her ability to be fun yet effective in care delivery, and to be goal-oriented yet flexible with patient particularities. What makes this even better is that amid delivering high-quality skill, Claire has maintained a strong sense of human connection with her patients and those she works with. Claire is every bit understanding, caring, and warm, and to have her recognized as a DAISY Nurse is a proud confirmation of the many positive things she brings to our unit.
