Cindy was one of the first night shift nurses to have my mom. As a dementia patient, in a new place, it was not an easy night for Cindy, I'm sure of it. Even with only night shift duty, some of the most challenging times for my mom, Cindy still managed to make a lasting connection with my mom. She even volunteered to be her nurse one night after a previously difficult night. Cindy took the time to talk with and get to know my mom - finding things they could talk about. Even on bad days when my mom didn't want me or my dad to be in the room, she would still manage to give Cindy a hug. She was able to be a light in the middle of the never-ending darkness that is dementia. And for that, we are forever thankful to Cindy. She was always patient and caring without complaining! She treated my mom like a friend, not a burden to take care of. From talking with Cindy, I learned that nursing was not her first career. I'm so thankful that her like brought her to nursing because it's truly her calling. She is fantastic at her job and made us all feel comfortable knowing that my mom was in good hands. Thank you for everything and for being that familiar and comforting friend to my mom in the toughest of times!
