Chris cares for patients and staff. This is demonstrated by a hand-written letter from a patient. This letter was a result of how Chris turned a patient's hospital stay around for the positive. The patient was upset and demanded to speak with the House Supervisor. He felt like he was not being listened to and his concerns were not being addressed. Chris sat down and spoke with the patient and listened to what he had to say. She then went and reviewed his care plan making an adjustment to note his behavior when having low blood sugars to provide orange juice as necessary to prevent him from becoming violent. Education was given to staff on signs and symptoms to watch for to prevent low blood sugar. The patient was so pleased andsaid, "You helped change my life for the better just by leading by example. I know you have helped many others too. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."
Chris is a team player always willing to take on new challenges to relieve the burden of others. I recently received a letter from a House Supervisor at CUMC Bergan Mercy stating how Chris went out of her way to find a Zoll startup kit for their patient.
