Our sweet bundle of joy was born 12 weeks early at just 1 pound, 12 ounces. The very first person we met from the NICU was Chris as she took our son on a tour of the unit before she was even born. After her birth, Chris signed on as one of her primary nurses. Over the next three months, we found Chris to be our advocate, supporter, and friend. As our daughter grew, Chris pushed her to meet her goals, such as bottle-feeding and not needing oxygen. She not only took excellent care of her, she exceeded her job expectations, took care of us parents. She explained procedures, development, etc. special to our daughter in ways that we could easily understand, answered our questions in a knowledgeable, but personal way, provided us with hands-on experience in preparing to bring our preemie home, and helped us to feel less stressed. As we neared her discharge date, Chris even came in her day off to make sure our baby was on track to go home and that we, her parents, were fully prepared. We are so thankful to Chris!
