Charity really helped me and my wife. I was to have a heart stent put in. Charity helped get the doctors to talk to us. She reassured us everything would be fine. She made sure I was monitored correctly. When I was moved to the 3rd floor she made sure my move was done with my comfort in mind. The nurses there were made aware of my medical condition thanks to Charity.

Recently, my world was turned upside down when a routine stress test for my husband turned into an emergency Cath lab appointment the next day. Praying the next day that the doctor could fix the blockage with stents. I calmly sat waiting in the surgery waiting room when out emerged ourdoctor with bad news, my husband needed bypass surgery immediately. Overtaken with shock and disbelief I followed the doctor to the image room to view the test results.
The next three days were a blur- tests, drips, blood draws. I never left his side. Then a few days later love was wheeled away to the OR, where for the next 7 hours he would be in surgery. I was waiting in the same surgery waiting room where I would wait and get my reports every 2 hours. Then I was told to go to the 5th floor ICU waiting room where the doctor would come. What would happen next? What would my love look like? Would we be able to talk? There are hundreds of questions going through your mind but only one mattered, would my love be okay? The doctor came and off we went to see him. Getting to the room it looked like a scene from a movie. IV poles with bags hanging on every loop, IV lines, a breathing machine, tubes coming out of his chest, arms and legs bandaged, even with medical experience nothing can prepare you for seeing your loved one in such a state. That's when I met our angel, Charity.
Charity walked me through every step he would be going through, why things were going on, what the next 24 hours would be like. The amount of compassion and empathy she had for what we had gone through and how amazing she treated my husband was truly special. I finally felt relief that everything was going to be okay. When I heard she would be back the next day it was a relief knowing he would be well taken care of. When my husband was still intubated she made sure to be his advocate so he could progress. Showing and proving she would do what was best for her patients is truly admirable.
My husband is recovering beautifully and I attribute this to the tremendous care he received during his stay. But a big part of the two days he spent in the ICU under Charity's care. She is a true asset to her team, hospital and her profession. Thank you, Charity, for helping not just my husband, butalso me through this difficult time! I will remember you always.
