CHARITY HAMPTON, BSN, RN
SICU – Indiana University Hospital

Charity Hampton was nominated for a DAISY Award by a patient’s family member who wrote on the nomination form: “Charity is such a professional – very compassionate and caring. On a scale of 1- 10, she get a ten in her job performance from me.”
Since 2002, Hampton has worked in SICU and has consistently received glowing reviews from both patients and co-workers. Her clinical manager, Michael Luebbehusen, MSN, RN describes Hampton as “one of the finest nurses we have. She is very caring and compassionate. This is her calling. She recently returned from a mission trip to Africa. “Charity provides exceptional care to her patients.”
Hampton’s shift coordinator, Natasha Thalley, agrees saying, “Christy takes time to listen to patients in a fast-track, busy environment. She provides great care to her patients. Charity is very helpful as a charge nurse and listens to the needs of her co-workers. She always has a smile on her face.
“The DAISY Award exemplifies the kind of nurse that I want to be,” says Hampton.
