I was touched by Cecilia's own unique and special way in helping out find a hand for a patient who came in late around 1330hr. Per wheelchair a case of complicated diabetic foot, gangrene, needs daily dressing but patient failed to come to the clinic for a week and needs dressing of her septic foot, unfortunately assigned clinic nurse is on break. Vascular doctor wants to do the dressing right at that moment asking help from other nurses but they responded the patient should wait for the clinic nurse because they have their own clinic. If no one will assist the doctor, the physician cannot promise that he can come back in the clinic to do the dressing and it will compromise the health wound status of the patient.

Then Cecilia takes extra step find a hand to assist the doctor. That's what we call a NURSE WHO HAS THE HEART that cares for a patient; not minding for the unbearable smell of the foot when they open up the dressing seems the whole unit was in a mess because of the smell from rotted foot which was not cleaned for a week. We could imagined if dressing was not done that day because no Nurse will take the task what will happened to patient infected foot.

Patient was so overwhelmed and with great appreciation to her for what she did though she is not the assigned nurse. Her Attitude towards her workplace creates a more positive and welcoming place to work with. And, it surely contributed towards a positive outcome of the patient in the clinic.

Knowing that her effort not only strengthen our surgical clinic but give our other colleague the privileged of providing best services for the patient we served.
