I nominate Cathy Sullivan for the DAISY Award. I have had the privilege of witnessing her great kindness and outstanding nursing practice for the 8 years I have worked at WMC. Her signature nursing style reflects integrity and compassion and reminds me of Mother Teresa’s words, “in this life we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love.

As demanding as nursing is, Cathy always seems to find the time for kindness, and she in unwavering and seamless in her professional practice; her patients and their families experience and trust her commitment to service. They know that she will be there for them, helping them to navigate a complex and sometimes stressful experience.

If I had to describe what I value most about Cathy as my colleague, it would be her quality of consistent patience and thoughtfulness. I have the deepest respect not only for her nursing knowledge and expertise but also for the generosity with which she shares it. She has a way of always making your problem her problem; and your patient her patient.

Working with Cathy is inspiring. She is truly a light in our midst, a blessing to all of us.
