Throughout her career on multiple continents, Catharina Dixon has consistently demonstrated her dedication to her field. She is always very proactive in all the work she does, be it at the bedside or partnering with clients on massive implementations that affect patients and caregivers alike. She adheres to a strict code of partnership and advocacy on behalf of patients, clients, and caregivers alike. It's this dedication that pushes her to be consistently amazing at what she does and what she is able to accomplish.
Lately, Catharina has used her passionate approach and knowledge of medical devices and capacity management to drive improvements that have positively affected hospitals, patients, and caregivers. She always comes back to share her experiences and new knowledge with the Clinical team to improve our understanding. She has deservedly earned a considerable amount of respect around these specific areas as she has consistently been our "go-to" source for any and all issues/information we need.
Approximately 1 year ago Catharina was faced with a difficult situation whereby a large client in Qatar had many meetings, both online and in person, around capacity management and the client was not sold that it would be a solution for them. The client did a deep dive into what they knew and did not want to take the standard capacity management solution. The solution didn't demonstrate how it could be effective with their current workflows to improve operational flow, which was the main roadblock.
Catharina then utilized her vast knowledge, skills, and abilities around Capacity Management and worked with the client to overcome the primary roadblock. She did this through engagement and building rapport, as well as relying on years of experience in the healthcare sector. She reviewed the workflows and listened to the client. With some small modifications and a better understanding of the solution capability, Catharina drove the project to a tipping point where the client was convinced it was going to be a beneficial solution for them to use. Last year we had our first go live in Al Wakra Hospital. I was there to witness the success and when the executive of the Hospital visited the bed managers to see the solution, her absolute delight on the success was incredible. Today we are successfully rolling out the program across the other 11 hospitals in Qatar.
Never one to rest, Catharina is now currently working with a code blue vendor Event Doc to drive the application interface to CMEA. This is being piloted and there is definitely interest in the region particularly in Qatar. I am sure she will once again demonstrate her succinct and successful skills at making this work for caregivers and the organization as a whole.
Thank you, Catharina, for all that you do you are an incredible resource your passion for Capacity Management and improving patient care is always exemplary. You truly meet and exceed the standards of a DAISY Nurse and deserve the recognition for what you have done for patients, caregivers, and organizations, including Cerner and its clients. You are a wonderful person inside and out and are an exceptional colleague that I am proud to be able to work with at Cerner.
