My mom and I came in the ER because of severe symptoms she began to experience. When we got checked in she was seen almost immediately. Everyone was excellent in caring for my mom, however, I would like to give special attention to Carolyn. After my mom was seen and discharged from the ER she walked to the parking area where I had been in my truck to take a short nap after sitting at the hospital with her through the night. As my mom got into the truck and handed her discharge papers to me, I noticed something in her appearance that was upsetting to me. While still in the ER parking lot I decided to call and express my concerns. I was connected to speak with Carolyn who actually had not seen my mom because her shift had just begun. She listened to me as I expressed my concerns. I was tired and a bit stressed having worked overnight myself and with being worried about my mom's condition I sometimes don't articulate well when under stress but she was not rude nor inpatient, in fact, she was very patient kind, attentive and showed sincere concern for my issues. She even offered to come out to the ER parking lot to take a look at my mom because my mom was a bit weak, plus she just fell asleep as she was so tired in the truck. Carolyn showed a willingness to help my mom however she could and showing understanding for my concerns means so much that I can't express fully. Nurses like her make all the difference in the world and exemplify the true meaning of compassion. Thank you nurse Carolyn for all you do, you're the best. May God shine on you always, you are awesome.
