Carol has been a dedicated Heart/Cath Lab RN for over 30 years. Carol’s expertise in the Heart/Cath Lab far surpasses the average nurse. Carol is viewed as a true leader and patient advocate and is not afraid to speak out for what is right for the patient no matter what the consequences.
One of Carol’s coworkers recalls a time when a patient died in the Heart/Cath Lab and Carol, by herself, insured that the patient’s dignity was respected before the family came in to view their loved one. Carol went above and beyond to comfort and care for this patient.
Carol is highly respected among the Cardiologists as one of the Heart/Cath Lab’s
“Top RN’s”. The staff in her department routinely say, “If I were a patient, I would want Carol to care for me”.
Personally, I think that is the highest compliment you can give a nurse and I think that overwhelmingly demonstrates why Carol so deserves this DAISY Award.
