On 2/25/12, my mother was brought by EMS to the hospital. I stayed by her side in the ICU and then on 5 South for 5 days and nights while she was dying. Everyone was very understanding of the situation and went out of their way to accommodate me in this terrible situation and they always asked how I was doing. Carol was at my side without fail. If it had not for her guidance and compassion during this time, I would have never been able to handle the transition of my mother's death.

Carole made the experience understandable and instead of fear and anxiety for me, it was a loving memory I will always cherish in my heart. I needed to let the hospital know how valuable it is for the hospital to have such a wonderful employee such as Carole. Not only is she a dedicated professional, but also a warm and sincere, loving woman. She will be in my heart always for her never-ending special kindness and compassion.

Heartfelt gratitude is lovingly expressed to Nurse Carole at Cape Fear Valley. Because of her knowledge and help to me through this sorrowful time in my life, I am forever indebted. She explained all of the things my mother was experiencing and made sure she was not in distress or unnecessary pain to the very end. She is truly a "guardian angel" on this earth.
