My daughter is 22 years old and her GYN found a lump in her breast. We went to the Breast Center in March. After ultrasounds and mammogram, they decided to do a biopsy right there. Carol Caruso took us back and explained to us what was going on. She knew how scared my daughter and I were. My daughter had not eaten and her stomach was upset. Carol gave her soda and graham crackers to calm her stomach and stayed with her holding her hand through the biopsy. We were so grateful to her for her compassion during this time. My daughter felt much safer with Carol by her side. Carol let us know when the results came back as cancer. She was kind and understanding. I depended on her knowledge and she set us up with an oncologist and surgeon. Both doctors were excellent choices. I was glad I trusted her and felt like I had a new best friend. She gave me her number and told me to call anytime with questions or to talk. She was the bright light in the middle of our gloom.

Thank you so much, Carol! We have been so busy with neo-adjunctive chemo, a double mastectomy, infection and now more chemo. We are still working with the plastic surgeon after a second surgery for the infection. I went to get my mammogram this week and the tech remembered my daughter. It reminded me of how great your nurses are especially, Carol, for holding our hands through the darkest time of our lives.
