Caitlin made me forget about my ailments, at least for a bit.
"I was admitted with a viral infection, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis-related complications. I could barely breathe." The patient also had a high fever and a body wracked with pain. Caitlin was her primary nurse for the first five days of her stay. "Caitlin was always there for me. I can't tell you how many times she ran to my call bell alerts to take my temperature, administer Tylenol, contact doctors (even after hours) and console me. Caitlin made sure to articulate to me clearly what goals I needed to reach to improve and succeed."
Even when Caitlin wasn't assigned to this patient, she stopped by the room to check-in, to play a hand of Old Maid, and to laugh. As the patient wrote: "She made me forget about my ailments, at least for a bit. I am blessed to have met her."
