Holmes Regional Medical Center recognizes and honors Bunny Countryman as one of our extraordinary nurses with the DAISY Award.
Bunny was nominated by a fellow RN on D6 who describes Bunny as caring, a good role model, team player and patient advocate.
Bunny took patient advocacy to a higher level when she arranged a visit to the patient’s mom who was in another nursing unit in our hospital. The patient learned that her mom was being admitted through the emergency department and became upset when she learned her mom was being placed on a ventilator. Bunny made arrangements with her clinical charge nurse to have a visit between the patient and her mom. The patient was most appreciative and her well-being was much improved by this visit to her mom.
We recognize Bunny for showing true caring and compassion to the patient during their stay on D6. The patient and patient’s mom were put ahead of everything for Bunny and we are fortunate to have such a caring and devoted nurse to care for our patients at HF/HRMC.
