I am writing to let you know how much Brooke Bartolotta touched my life during the first week of March. My dad was admitted to the Pulmonary ICU, and after a week he passed away. I had spent the night with my dad on March 6 and after a night full of tests, the doctors came and asked that I call the family to the hospital for a meeting. At first, I didn't realize what they were saying and tried to convince them they could tell me the results and I would then share with the family. Finally I "got it" and couldn't believe what was happening. Brooke was in the room when the doctors were talking with me and stayed with me when I made the calls. Just having her presence in the room while I called my mom, sister, and brothers was comforting. After the first call (to my mom) she encouraged me by saying how great I handled the call (not letting my mom know to muchjust asking her if she was on her way and making sure she was riding with someone). I cried between each call and Brooke was there telling me that I could do it and that I was doing fine. She gave me my strength on the morning of March 7 and stayed by my dad's side throughout the day, comforting my whole family as Dad passed away. She was truly a blessing to me and my family as I am sure she is to so many others.
