My husband had surgery done at Orange Coast Medical Center. He spent the day after the surgery and the following 2 days at the ICU Cardiology in that hospital. I was there most of the time also, and I cannot forget the ICU Nurse, Bridge, who works there.
The minute she walked into the room where I was with my husband I felt at ease, you could just feel how caring she was, the way she approached my husband, talked to him in her clear voice so he could understand, and asked him if he need anything, if he was in pain, if he wanted to sit up more, she was always there for him. She totally supported him and answered any questions I had too, which I had a lot. She always took the time to make me feel less scared. It did not matter to her how often we called her, she was always in a good mood, we never thought that was a burden for her, just the opposite, she was there to help and she was empathetic.
She explained the medications to me which were added to my husband's list, she kept track of everything. She communicated with us in a great way, which helped me to be so much more stable in that difficult situation.
I remember just the way she walked with my husband for the first time. She gave him clear instructions and after getting him out of bed, he walked with her up and down the hall, it was amazing. She was close at his side, watching him every second. After a long day in the evening, she still had an outstanding physical and mental endurance.
She sure went the extra mile with my husband, she is a very inspiring helpful person and I will never forget her. Thank you so much Bridge for making my life at that moment easier!
