Brandon, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful care you gave me. I was admitted to the ER with chest pain and was fortunate to have you as my nurse for a large portion of my ER visit. My husband and I were impressed by your thoughtfulness and compassion. I was scared and your ability to anticipate my needs made me feel reassured that I was in good hands. I thought it was nice that you shared your own experience with your dad when he came to the ER with chest pain. I really appreciated all the updates and the fact that you would answer my questions even before I had a chance to ask them. I realize how busy your unit is and yet you went out of your way to keep us informed and never left the room without asking if there was anything you could do.
I was waiting for a room assignment and it was 6:30 pm, which is a hard time to get a bed because it is so busy at the end of the shift. Brandon went and talked to his charge nurse and then the 5-West charge nurse. I was so happy he got me a room. He then inquired if I was hungry and noticed it was ten minutes before nutrition services closed for the evening. He called them and was persistent in staying on the line when he was not getting an answer. He finally got an answer and made sure they would send a tray to my room before they left for the night. Also, on the way to my room he allowed time to pick up my clothes from another part of the hospital so I would have them when I needed them. I appreciate the way he showed my husband to the cafeteria to make sure his needs were also cared for.
Brandon, I was touched by your caring attitude and treating me like you would your own family. I do not believe I am a rare case. I think you are an outstanding nurse who gives 100% to your patients every day! Thank you.
