Bonnie is a model of what it truly means to be a nurse. Nursing is her vocation. She is nurturing, compassionate, caring, and encouraging to patients and staff. Bonnie always creates a healing experience for her patients and always contributes to a healthy work environment for her colleagues.
It is all about the little extras that can make a huge difference. She takes pride in going the extra mile by making sure each of her patients is fluffed and buffed. Whether it is spending extra time listening to a patient, encouraging them to see their problems from a different perspective or assisting nursing staff in their orientation, her care, compassion, and positive approach inspire a sense of hope in patients and a welcoming atmosphere for our nursing team.
If Bonnie sees a problem or a way we can improve, she comes up with suggestions and volunteers to be part of the solution. She is very involved in various projects, quality improvement initiatives, and committees. In addition, she encourages others to participate.
She also is known for her ability to teach, mentor, and guide newer nurses. She has the reputation for being a "mother hen" in the nicest of ways, by giving many nurses a wonderful start to their careers. She is supportive, positive, structured, encouraging, and gently pushes new nurses toward independence.
Thank you, Bonnie, for all you do for our patients and our nursing team!

I was informed without warning I needed to have a special MRI. Bonnie calmed me and turned a bad experience into something a bit more palatable.
Note: This is Bonnie's 2nd DAISY Award!
