A Veteran was an inpatient on a frequent basis. This Veteran was very tired and very frustrated with everything and everyone, and had no quarrels showing it, his attitude was very dismal. Two RN's tried to provide care; each of them leaving the room after only a few minutes, understandably frustrated, offended and ready to call it a day. Nurse Bobb understood the frustrations of her team and, as charge RN, met with the assigned RN, reassigned their patients and provided care to this veteran, as she does all her patients, with outstanding care. She was able to get to the root of some of the frustration and contacted the services the Veteran was in need of to assist. Unable to take back the words he said to the other nurses, she was able to show him that he needed to not treat people badly who are trying to help him. The Veteran was very apologetic yet did not want any other care giver other than Ms. Arterberry. As the Veteran stated, "She is gold among diamonds".
