Blair was nominated for her compassion shown to a patient who passed away suddenly.
"The entire staff was amazing," said the patient's daughter in a nomination letter. "They always put my father's needs first and made sure his family and other visitors were comfortable."
The patient was diagnosed with terminal cancer a few days before he passed away. It took the whole family by surprise. "Our family was in a state of shock," she said. "We crowded in into his room by the numbers daily and never once were we told we couldn't be there in such large numbers."
Throughout his stay, she said her father had many staff members visit him and leave with tears in their eyes after providing care for him.
"Blair and another staff member both showed the amount of true compassion that Comfort care staff possesses," she said. "They both cried as the tech turned off his pacemaker."
After this, Blair, with tears in her eyes said "I'm so sorry," hugged his wife, and tried her best to comfort the devastated family members.
"I was so amazed and touched by her show of emotions that I will always hold a special place in my heart for her as well as the countless other staff members that cared for my dad until his very last breath. Each and every one of them went above and beyond," she said. "Every step they took was empathetic, caring and compassionate."
