Betty is loved by all her team members, her patients that she cares for, and the patient family members. Betty is always willing to help out where she is needed and never complains about the patient workload. Betty has been appointed as a preceptor for many new nurse grads that are hired and always shows them patience and understanding. She is caring, respectful, a good listener, experienced and most of all a true Nurse in every sense of the word. I nominate Betty for this most auspicious award as I believe she truly deserves it!
Betty is known fondly on 2 West as "Nurse Betty". She is what every nurse strives to be like. We have had countless new nurses ask to be trained by Betty, as she is an excellent preceptor with her patient, kind and nurturing demeanor. Many nurses have started their careers under Betty's guidance.
I have watched this exemplary nurse care for our sickest and most down trodden patients with the outmost concern for their well-being and dignity. She is calm, focused and thorough in every situation.

Betty Verdine is an excellent nurse. She is very considerate to her patients, is an excellent teacher to her co-workers and patients, a great mentor, and a strong presence to the 2 West team. Her strengths include patience, calm personality, knowledgeable, and willingness to help. She advocates for her patients and has a good understanding of their needs. She always has useful information to share when creating a plan of care, and potential needs they may have at discharge. She has strong communication skills. The team looks to her as shining example of a great nurse. Thank you Betty!

Betty is the epitome of the perfect nurse. She is kind, friendly, a good listener, and empathetic to her patients. She is a team player, conscientious, patient and logical. She is consistently knowledgeable, focused, committed, capable, loyal and dedicated to her profession. Betty goes above and beyond her duties of being a nurse. She not only passes her meds and does her treatments like IVs but also helps the PCTs with the patient baths answering call lights etc. A good example of all of this was one day a patient wanted to sign himself out AMA and Betty knew that was not a good idea. When the patient absolutely refused to stay Betty got very upset and tried to talk him out of leaving. She herself was emotional about it.
