Back in August, we had an elderly lady that had fallen at home and fractured her hip. The patient had two sons who visited daily and worked very close with Beth to make sure their mother was well taken care of. The patient lived on the same property as one of her sons; they just lived in different homes. The patient was close enough to her sons that she had good care, and she insisted on going back to her own home afterwards. The son was very concerned about the patient going back home. They were afraid she would fall again, but the patient insisted. Beth knew the patient needed things within her reach at home, and also knew the patient would be going home with a walker.

One day after her shift, Beth drove to Walgreens and got a belongings basket and a hanging bag for the patient's walker. She also got sliders for the bottom of the patient's walker. All of these interventions were to help prevent the patient from falling at home again. This put her sons at ease. To top it all off, it was also the patient's birthday. The son sent a thank-you card to TJC a month later with a special thanks to Beth for her over-the-top compassionate care.

Beth performs kind acts all the time. She takes care of her patients because this is exactly what she is here to do. Knowing her patients are taken care of is all that matters to her. She has true kindness inside and her patients are the ones who tell me all the wonderful things she has done. This was just one the many acts she has performed for her patients. This example really touched the patient and her family.
