I am a 3rd shift mobile crisis responder and I often end up working with Beth Hibbard when being sent to this facility. I have never encountered anything short of positive, pleasant interactions with her. Beth is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the patient we go out to assess. It is evident that she has taken the time to speak to the client and/or when possible, the family or support system of the patient to gain an understanding of how our team can assist. It's not only the "research" she completes, it's the genuine compassion and empathy she exhibits towards the patient (yes, even the more agitated, uncooperative and hostile ones). Sometimes, our crisis team has many patients waiting to see us and response times may be longer than usual. It's my opinion that her positive, comforting attitude while awaiting our assistance has provided hope. This is especially important during a mental health crisis which can be one of the potentially lowest points they have reached in their lives.
Patients have personally informed me that her gentle understanding helped to decrease strong suicidal thoughts, reduce anxiousness, ease fear of getting mental health treatment, and/or comfort them without judgment. Not to discredit the other six facilities in our region, but this is the most consistent reporting from patients that I have personally experienced regarding an ER staff member.
Beyond how she assists us in providing more effective care for patients, she is also quite possibly the sweetest, friendliest, approachable and professional nurse I think I have ever encountered. I'd say with confidence that the rest of our team would agree. I've honestly never heard any staff from my organization report any less than positive things about her. I feel that she goes above and beyond what is expected and although your entire ER team is wonderful to work with, I believe Beth to be exceptional. I could go on and with compliments regarding Beth and I cannot fully ever verbalize my admiration and appreciation for her. When I saw the banner in your facility, I felt strongly compelled to recognize her. The world could greatly benefit from more nurses like Beth. I say this with the highest level of sincerity, you have a true gem in your facility.
