Beth stuck out to me at first based on the first time that I brought my newborn son to the pediatrician's office. As a first-time mom, my nerves were on high alert. We had been struggling with some breastfeeding issues and I was upset, stressed, and feeling concerned. When we arrived at the office, Beth saw that we had a newborn and immediately took us from the waiting room into a private examination room. She shared that for new babies, they try to be mindful of proximity to other patients and exposure. I was so grateful that she said this as it encouraged me to consider this later when I took my son out into the community.
Beth was kind and compassionate. When she asked about how he was eating, I burst into tears. She was so kind in sharing that the struggles I was experiencing were completely normal and that the doctors would help. Beth was incredibly supportive of our family throughout our visit. She even came to check on me after our time with the doctor and sent us home with some formula samples (a Godsend for new parents who didn't have time or the energy to stop at the store on the way home).
The quality care and compassion from Beth did not end after this first visit. When we came back a few days later, I would not have expected anyone to recognize us as we were new to the practice. Beth greeted us by name and welcomed us back to the office. She even gave me a hug at the end of that visit.
For a new mom going through struggles with breastfeeding, Beth Herr was a complete angel. She was caring and compassionate, she offered helpful suggestions, and she welcomed us as if we were close friends. She went above and beyond her role to make us feel cared for. Her kindness is exceptional and deserves recognition.
