I'm writing to let you know of the absolute amazing care that my mother received while admitted to Norton Hospital recently. My mother was admitted to Norton Hospital after a cardiac cath showed some significant blockage. She underwent a quadruple bypass without any issues, but unfortunately suffered a stroke in the beginning stages of recovery. Although my mother's stroke seemed to be mild with no significant mobility damage she did suffer from bouts of confusion and anxiety. My mother is blind, and this is only added to her anxiety and confusion. While all of her nursing care was exceptional one nurse stood out among the rest. While on 5L my mother had the pleasure of Ellie Dudley being her nurse. Ellie was so caring and compassionate; she left a mark on our the hearts of my whole family!
When my mother had a couple of bad nights with confusion and anxiety, Ellie stayed with her and read a book to her until Mom fell asleep. The second night Ellie was on another unit but came right over and talked with my mom until she calmed down. She even gave my mom the phone number to the unit she was on in case she needed her again. Her compassion and care are beyond measure! She definitely went the extra mile and above and beyond her duties! Ellie is a wonderful nurse and even more a wonderful person! Thank you Ellie for treating my mother like your own! You have no idea just how much your compassion has touched our hearts. Team Ellie!
