When you say the words care and compassion, the name Berniece Combs comes to mind. She exemplifies the Standards of Behavior here at Manchester Memorial. Berneice is a nurse who gives 110% and very rarely complains about anything. Berniece is always willing to do what needs to be done to care for our patients and help her fellow co-workers. She cares deeply about her patients and ensures that the patient's needs are met.
Recently, Berniece helped a patient give her life to Christ one night while at work. This patient had given up and seemed depressed. But after giving her life to Christ, the patient had a desire to get better. The patient was at peace and had a better outlook on things. Furthermore, this patient was later discharged home.
I do believe that Berniece would probably give the coat off of her back for a patient if they needed it. She will not leave at the end of her shift until she goes back to check on a patient whom she told she would be back before she left. Berniece is truly an asset to the Nursing Profession.
