I am writing this nomination of behalf of my Dad, who was a patient for three days on Lacks 3. He felt Bernice Palma went above and beyond to make his stay a positive experience. Dad had a lot of anxiety. Bernice's calming presence was such a blessing to him. She never showed that she was rushing around to get her work done, in spite of having a very busy schedule. She took time to explain procedures to Dad and even took the time to show him the 5th floor's view, plants and healing garden. My Dad was a florist for years so this meant so much for him to see. She also took the time to have a service dog come and visit his room.

I felt Bernice cared for my Dad like she would care for her own parents. We thank God for placing Bernice in our lives. She truly gave quality care and had a genuine concern for my Dad.

All the nurses did a great job, but Bernice stood out among all of them. Thank you and your staff for all you do to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those who are dealing with many issues in their lives.
