Barb Harrity has worked at AVH for 29 years. All 29 years, she has gone above and beyond to provide the best care and deliver the best communication possible to patients and families. This was more evident when she took on a new role. There have been so many compliments from those patients and family members she helps. Barb goes out of her way to make sure all their belongings are where they need to be. She has never missed greeting them in the lobby for any and all of their procedures. Once the patients are recovered, she follows them to the unit and assists the inpatient staff in getting the patients comfortable, water, and any other needs at that time. Barb has recently stepped up and taken over the joint camp activities weekly. This includes the ordering of breakfast, scheduling the speakers, and speaking to the attendees on what to expect from a nursing view. She is also the facilitator of the monthly Hope Support Group. She wears many hats and wears them exceptionally, with a smile on her face 100% of the time. Barb is a true asset to our AVH team.
