Recently, there were 10 admitted patients in the ECC requiring 2S to open. Azuka was given the responsibility of spearheading this task along with 2 other nurses and 1 technician. Azuka assumed the charge nurse responsibility despite having to admit a new patient and having an assignment like her other colleagues. She took the leadership role of accepting report for the other 2 RNs so as not to have any further patient delay coming out of the ECC. Despite her colleagues attempt to slow her down, she continued to accept report and allow patient after patient. She did all of this with a smile on her face. She has team spirit and displays the potential to be a leader and above all, she has shown that we encourage the mission and values of Providence Hospital. She is caring, compassionate and her team spirit allows patients to receive inpatient care without further delay. One patient expressed how grateful he was to be placed in a room with a comfortable bed so fast. Thank you, Azuka, for all that you do.
