Autumn has been with us for a short amount of time (a little over a year) but has made drastic changes to our unit. 10S did not have PCD for quite some time before Autumn came, and the morale was definitely down. Since she started, Autumn has been approachable, caring, kind, and compassionate. She has made 10 South feel like one big family. She encourages teamwork, sharing our feelings and thoughts, and "comes to our rescue" when needed. When it is a busy day on the unit, Autumn will be the first one asking who needs help. She is not only committed to making her team happy but also the patients. She puts on her gown and gloves and helps us whether it is transferring a patient from bed to stretcher, cleaning a soiled patient, or even during a code. When we have a rough day or a patient passes away, she always comes to ask us how we are feeling and to see if there is anything she can do. She arranges debriefing sessions for us with a social worker without us asking. I love how concerned she is for her staff. I speak for many, if not all, of 10S, when I say she is the best manager we have ever worked with. Her love for leadership, teamwork, and compassion shines through every day!
