Arielle was my son's PICU nurse once he was out of surgery. This was the hardest day of my life and she tried to make it better. I still cry thinking about how my son looked in his bed in the PICU room when I was finally able to see him. She was at his side, making sure everything was OK. She even made a point to ask, "Do you think he looks comfortable?" She said right away that I could touch him, hold his hand and talk to him. As the tears were rolling down my face, some part of me knew, he had been cared for just as I would have cared for him. She answered all my questions, and I had a thousand! She was a very good support person, really making sure I was also ok, not just my son. She allowed me to hold him and helped me care for my son. As a first-time patient this was the scariest moment of my life and I could tell she cared and wanted to make sure my son was cared for. Amazing nurse, amazing care, so thankful for her.
