The night I was admitted to Memorial in extreme respiratory distress, April was my "guardian angel". She went above and beyond to be by my side throughout the night. I was extremely upset and feeling down and April was my support system that night. I never would have gotten through the night without her. The next morning, April volunteered to talk to my daughter and explained what was going on with me, the difficult choice I had to make to move towards hospice. I had been sick for more than 10 years and was ready to accept that hospice was the right choice for me at this point. April was an exceptional nurse who not only helped me through a difficult night, but talked to my family when I didn't have the heart to. My daughter said "April was an awesome, compassionate, caring nurse, who went above and beyond to help take care of my Mom".
