My husband was admitted through the ER and admitted to CVTele. His nurse, Annmarie cared for him. Annmarie knew we were from out of town and knew we needed to request all the information to be sent to our doctors on Long Island. Without asking her to get the proper forms to be filled out to release the medical information, she had them in the room to be signed. This was a tremendous help to us since we had many other things to think about during this time.
I also observed how she made sure that when she did various procedures on my husband, she was very considerate of my husband's comfort. Without him requesting a wet hospital gown to be changed she made sure that it was changed. She always went the extra mile in all she did for my husband. This is our first time being cared for by staff in this hospital. Annmarie's friendly, cheerful, thorough, and caring approach helped me to feel my husband is in the best of care. She truly is a DAISY Nurse.

Annmarie is very personable, professional, and compassionate. She always made me feel very comfortable and was always helpful and comforting. As caregivers, we often feel as if we are superheroes and have to be on top of everything. I was caught off guard and comforted at the same time when one day, Annmarie was recounting what my husband had for lunch and she said, "I did not know that he was lactose intolerant." I immediately said, "I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you." She gently said, "Oh that's alright, you can't remember everything." That really touched me and almost brought me to tears because many people don't get how your life changes after becoming a caregiver and you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. But she assured me, that it's alright to just be a woman dealing with everyday issues. Thanks, Annmarie.
PS: I was there every day and Annmarie never made me feel as if I were in the way. She was always polite, engaging, thoughtful and helpful. Excellent customer service!

2 days after being discharged post-surgery, I was readmitted after a fall at home. A fractured foot was a complication I was not expecting. Annmarie showed compassion when she shared her own experiences with a fractured ankle which required multiple surgeries. I had other medical issues contributing to my fall. One of which was a low hemoglobin level, which made me symptomatic. The sight of Annmarie chasing the cardiology down the hall to get him to order a unit of blood for me is forever etched in my mind. Annmarie is a true patient advocate. Nursing needs more like her.
